After coming across articles similar to this, I wondered how I could bring more gender diversity to the stage. That's when I began working on MidWay Music Speaks [now known only as Girls Rock Bloomington], a nonprofit organization that celebrated & connected women and non-binary people in music via promotion, empowerment, and performance opportunities. In my conceptualization, I determined we needed to: educate and empower the next generation of artists while entertaining the masses.
KEY RESULTS
5 years later, my vision transformed into 8 annual programs, a staff of 25+, 50+ annual partnerships, volunteer-base of 250+, donor-base of 600+, and 500+ artists impacted annually.
